India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will share the responsibility of hosting the 2011 Cricket World Cup, Pakistan were originally going to co-host the event but they withdrew after the Sri Lankan Cricket Team were attacked in Lahore in 2009.

The first game will be played on 19th February 2011 between India and Bangladesh, at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. All matches during the Cricket World Cup will be played as One Day Internationals with England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Ireland, Netherlands, Canada and Kenya battling it out to claim the title from current Cricket World Cup champions Australia.

The Final will be played on the 2nd April at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai where the victor will receive the Cricket World Cup Trophy. Australia will be hoping to retain their title but they will have strong competition from the host nations who will have the added advantage of playing on their own soil with the support of a home crowd.

The 2011 Cricket World Cup in Asia promises to be a rollercoaster of a tournament with lots of spice and flair, see you there!
